Options operates 22 scattered emergency shelter sites for families in crisis due to homelessness. Families are referred to the program by Suffolk County Department of Social Services. They are provided intensive case management services with an emphasis on securing affordable permanent housing. In 2010, the Transitional Housing Program served 47 families with 131 children. The Newsday Charities Grant will provide much needed support and assistance to the families served by this program.
All of Options’ programs are designed to promote health, safety, and welfare. Last year alone, Options assisted over 1000 adults and children on Long Island. For more information, visit the Options website www.optionscl.org or call (631)361-9020. |
