Position: Mental Health Counselor- Part-time

Program: Mental Health Community Residence Program

Duties: The part time Mental Health Counselor works in our Community Residence program providing various support services for clients with mental illness. He /She trains, motivates and assists residents in the activities of daily living, including household maintenance. May provide on-site visits to scattered apartment sites

Write progress notes on a regular basis. Oversee medication maintenance and assist residents in the development of self-medication skills as needed. Provide case management and follow-up services. Provide essential transportation for clients as needed.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.

Applicants are required to have a valid driver's license, access to a car, proper car insurance, and a safe driving record. The employee uses his or her own vehicle for transportation between sites and is reimbursed for mileage.

Work Schedule: All work schedules require at least one overnight at the residence. Counselors may sleep between the hours of 11PM and 7AM. Wages paid for sleep hours is the same as for waking hours.
Weeknights or Every Other Weekend

Weeknights - Monday and Wednesday: 5PM Monday through to 8AM Tuesday and 5PM Wednesday thru to 8AM Thursday. Total hours: 30 per week. OR
Tuesday and Thursday same schedule of hours as above

Every Other Weekend - 3PM to 8PM Friday and 12PM to 7PM Saturday and 12PM Sunday through to 8AM Monday. Total hours: 32 per week. OR

3PM Friday through to 7PM Sunday. Total hours: 52 per week. (Hours worked in excess of 40 are paid at a rate of one and one half times the hourly rate of pay.)
